A Cospicua man was yesterday charged with trafficking in heroin five years ago.

Jesmond Aquilina, 32, was also charged with the possession of heroin with intent to sell, the possession and trafficking of narcotics, the possession and circulation of counterfeit currency and relapsing on and before April 18, 1998.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted.

Dr Robert Abela appeared for Aquilina.
