The trial by jury of Paolo Muscat, 59 started this morning.

The Gozitan is being accused of trafficking and cultivating cannabis on and before December 2003 in Nadur. The prosecution is saying he was caught red handed with some 46,000 euros worth of cannabis ready for sale. He denies the charges.

The trial is being presided by Mr Justice Joseph Galea Debono.
