A 58-year-old man from Zurrieq was this morning denied bail after he pleaded guilty to assaulting the police on July 22 in Hal Far, disobeying police order, threatening the offers.

Joseph Zahra was also accused of, on the same day driving recklessly without a valid licence and against a one-way sign and threatening to kill a man.

He was also charged with threatening another police officer inside the police lock up at Floriana yesterday, breaching the peace and breaching the condition of previous convictions.
