A San Gwann man was yesterday given a two-year jail term suspended for four years after he admitted to seriously injuring a man with a pen-knife.
Jamie Caruana, 26, pleaded guilty to injuring Anthony Borg and to the illegal possession of the knife on Wednesday.
On handing down judgement Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna noted that Caruana had a clean criminal record and had fully cooperated with the police.
Police Inspector Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted.
Dr Michael Sciriha and Dr Ian Farrugia appeared for Caruana.
