Man seriously injured when boat capsized in Mġarr harbour

The accident was reported at 3.15pm on Wednesday

A man was seriously injured when his boat capsized in Mġarr Harbour on Wednesday.

The police said in a statement the man - a 35-year-old from Mellieħa - was injured when his boat capsized at around 3.15pm. People who were nearby helped him out of the water. 

The Armed Forces of Malta transported him ashore, from where he was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. He was then transferred to Mater Dei Hospital.

A magisterial inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
