A Syrian man suffered severe burns while replacing a gas cylinder in Marsascala on Thursday morning.

The police said the accident took place at about 11.20am.

The circumstances of the case were not clear. The police said a flame came out as the man was replacing the cylinder in a private house in Triq is-Sibbien.

The police are investigating.
