Man to undertake 24-hour racing simulator challenge for Puttinu Cares
Justin Mifsud is offering a cap signed by F1 drivers to the highest donor
A man will undertake a 24-hour racing simulator endurance challenge this weekend to raise money for Puttinu Cares, while offering an official Formula 1 cap featuring the signatures of seven professional racing drivers to the highest donor.
Justin Mifsud will undertake the challenge at the World Pro Racing simulator facility at Montekristo Estates on Saturday.
The activity is part of a year-long fundraising effort by Mifsud, who has already raised over €6,000 for the charity, according to a statement announcing the challenge.
He is hoping to raise €4,000 this weekend, with the aim of bringing the total raised this year to over €10,000.
Mifsud will live-stream the challenge, “allowing viewers to follow every moment of focus, fatigue, strategy, and mental strength”, the statement said.
“While the endurance event will also feature several competing teams, Mifsud is the only driver committing to the full 24 hours alone, which is an effort requiring extreme mental and physical endurance, as well as a deep connection to the cause he is supporting”, it said.
The racing enthusiast is offering an official cap signed by F1 racers Charles Leclerc, Arthur Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, Oliver Bearman, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar to the highest donor.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Mifsud said, “Puttinu Cares is an organisation that carries hope for so many families. Every hour I drive is a tribute to their strength, and I dedicate this race to AJ, who left this world recently”.
“This is about going beyond comfort, beyond limits, and using what I love most – motorsports and esports – to help someone else’s fight.”
