The final game in the series between the Valletta Canadians and the Malta Mapleleafs was played last week at the Eden Ice Arena.

The first two games produced a one-all tie with the Canadians winning 4-1 and the Mapleleafs replying with an 8-3 win.

On Friday, the Malta Mapleleafs, made up mainly of Maltese Canadians, took the series after a rout of their Scandinavian opponents 11-2. Team captain Chris Gatt lifted the trophy at the end of the game after scoring a hat-trick and four assists.

The game formed part of a series played every month. The next match will feature a Maltese and a Gozitan team. Those interested in participating should fill in a form on www.edenleisure.com/icearena or apply at the Ice Arena for details.
