Football legend Maradona is threatening to sue the makers of video game FIFA 18 for featuring his face on an in-game banner reading "I love Juve".

Eagle-eyed fans of the popular sports game noticed that when players set up a Juventus-Napoli match-up, a banner featuring the Argentine former superstar can be seen in the Juventus end of the stadium.

Napoli and Juventus are bitter rivals and are currently locked in an end-of-season title race.

"I have already spoken to my lawyers," an irate Maradona told Italy's Radio Kiss Kiss. "I cannot accept this sort of mistake in such a popular game."

The FIFA video game franchise is developed and published by video game giants Electronic Arts.

Maradona was a talismanic player for Napoli, leading the club to the only two league titles of their history in the 1980s.

For the first time in a generation, Napoli enter the Italian Serie A's final stretch with a good chance of reliving those glory days, with just one point separating them from reigning champions Juventus.
