Members of the Nature Trust's marine rescue team have undergone an intensive marine mammal medic course, organised by Nature Trust (Malta) and British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

The course was conducted by a British authority in the field of marine mammals with an extensive amount of experience in strandings of whales and dolphins.

Nature Trust (Malta) said that funding for the marine rescue team was fundamental for the purchase of proper rescue equipment, medical supplies for treating dolphins and turtles and to train the volunteers.

At the moment funding was obtained only through private sponsors and it invited anybody wishing to support the work of the rescue team by sending donations to Nature Trust (Malta), Marine Rescue Team, PO Box 9, Valletta or by placing a deposit in HSBC account 39069000001.

The course was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Mellieha Bay Hotel, Forum Hotel and Sound System.
