Last weekend, the Marsa team took on HMS Bulwark on Saturday and the following day, a combined team of three navy ships HMS Bulwark, HMS Argyll and HMS Somerset.
On Saturday, the Bulwark won the toss and elected to field first.
Nowell Khosla and John Grima opened the batting. They made an opening partnership of 67 runs before Grima was run out for 18 runs.
Khosla was next man out, scoring 34 runs, including four fours. Andy Lenard held the Marsa innings together, top scoring with 60 runs not out including eight fours.
Ronnie Sacco made 17 runs while Dimitri Zaf scored 14. The Navy ship aided the home side with 52 extras which took the score to a healthy total of 201 runs. The best bowler for the ship was Eden who took three wickets while Keel and Lennox Simon both took two.
In reply, the navy ship struggled to cope with the Marsa bowling, Kevin Krishna taking three wickets, Ronnie Sacco and Lenard two each. The visitors were bowled out for 147 runs.
Phil was their main scorer with 36 runs, Ken with 24 and Nick with 20 runs. Marsa won the game.
On Sunday, Marsa played against the combined ships and again batted first.
Nowell Khosla, opening the batting and top scored with 50 runs. Joy Ghoseroy scored 36 runs and Malcolm Crabbe 37 runs not out.
The home side scored 182 runs from their allotted overs. For the ships, Keel, Reed, Everest and Lennox Simon were the only wicket takers.
In reply the Navy ships team were bowled out for 109 runs. The slow bowling of Ghoseroy (four wickets) and Sarfraz Ali (three wickets) did the damage for the visitors.
Everest was the top scorer for the ships scoring 40 runs while Simon scored 29 runs.
Marsa clinched the game, making it four wins from four games against touring teams.
On Saturday, the winter league continues with Marsa taking on Melita at noon. In the morning, the nursery will be held from 9.30 till 11.30a.m.
