The Yellow Pages Challenge produced a game with plenty of runs on Saturday.

Marsa won the toss and elected to bowl. Javed Shah opened the batting for Krishna and hit opening bowler Ronnie Sacco for three consecutive fours in an over during which 15 runs were scored.

Shah went on to make 37 before being caught off Sacco's bowling.

Mark Sacco made 15 runs before being brilliantly run out by Ronnie Sacco with a direct hit. The Krishna innings were again saved by Sarfraz Ali and Chris Naudi. Ali made 43 runs before being caught and Naudi ended up with 77 not out including 11 fours.

Krishna scored a total of 204 runs in their allotted overs. Dhandapani and Ronnie Sacco took two wickets each for Marsa.

Marsa opened with Michael Caruana and John Grima who made an opening partnership of 133 before Grima retired due to a strained hamstring for 37 runs.

Caruana went on to make 101 before he, too, retired. Caruana hit 12 fours and a 6.

During his innings he was also dropped four times. Mark Sacco's 26 and Colin Willis' 11 saw Marsa emerge victorious with one over to spare.

Marsa now have a 2-0 lead in the Challenge series. Unfortunately for Krishna, no bowler took any wickets even though they toiled very hard. They also gave away 28 wides which did not help their cause.

Saturday's third game starts at 11.30 a.m.

The Summer League will soon get underway and there are already four teams, Marsa, Krishna, Melita and Overseas who will be taking part.

Those cricketers who want to play in the tournament may get in touch with any of the teams.
