Ladies Circle Malta and TBWA\ANG will be hosting a Masquerade Charity Ball, Saturday February 10th 2018 at Radisson Blu Resort, St. Julian’s in aid of Victim Support Malta (VSM), a local NGO that supports victims of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence.

Tickets for the fund-raiser will cost €35 and will feature a two-hour open bar and finger food with live performances by Skarlet and Steve Urpani. With a black tie and mask dress code as well as a VIP invite list featuring Malta’s best, the ball aims to be the year’s carnival bash to be seen at.

Despite its glamour, the event seeks to raise funds to assist with services provided by VSM, which are offered to victims free of charge, and for which the organisation does not receive any funds to cover its generic service.

Services provided include the provision of emotional support to assist victims in overcoming trauma through counselling and psychotherapeutic services. In addition, VSM offers the victims’ legal information pertaining to the relative criminal procedures, protecting the victim’s right to request compensation and to access forms of protection provided by the law, as well as practical assistance such as liaison with the police.

Whilst the main remit of VSM is the provision of support to victims of crime, VSM continues to believe in the importance of contact with people which allows them to become aware of the needs presenting amongst the Maltese population, and of the lacunas which exist in local services.
