The two BOV Premier League matches scheduled for yesterday afternoon at the Hibs Stadium were postponed due to inclement weather, the Malta FA said in a statement.

The announcement came as a surprise to many as the predicted heavy rain failed to materialise yesterday morning but the pitch of the Hibs Stadium was nonetheless deemed unplayable.

It could be that the surface was still soggy from last week's downpours.

This meant that the two matches, Floriana-Msida St Joseph and Ħamrun Spartans-Tarxien Rainbows, had to be called off. These have now been rescheduled for tomorrow.

Floriana will play Msida at the Tedesco Stadium while the clash between Ħamrun and Tarxien will be staged at the Centenary Stadium. Both matches kick off at 6 p.m.

Playing today (Tedesco Stadium): 7.30 p.m. Dingli Swallows vs Valletta.
