Martin Scicluna (September 21) says that he is "providing independent, fair, objective and constructive advice to ministers". But, again, he fails to admit that his statement (not once but twice in this newspaper) that "2.3 per cent of 23 is 10 per cent" is no such advice as he purports to be giving but is, very simply, a gross mathematical mistake unbefitting of a paid government adviser, however he might like to describe himself.
