The mayor of New York City was forced to sing I Love LA on live TV after losing a sporting bet with his Los Angeles counterpart.

Bill de Blasio lost his wager with Eric Garcetti after the New York Rangers lost ice hockey's showpiece Stanley Cup to the LA Kings.

Mr de Blasio, wearing a black T-shirt that said "I love LA", was in a studio in Times Square, New York City, and his appearance was beamed by satellite to the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, being filmed in Los Angeles with Mr Garcetti in attendance.
