The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology will this year be increasing the number of its institutes by another three, Education Minister Louis Galea said.

These are the institutes of mechanical engineering, agribusiness and community services.

MCAST, the minister said, was also moving ahead with its Lm1.5 million capital investment programme to provide better facilities for its students.

He was speaking at the opening of an exhibition of projects by the students of the MCAST's Art and Design Institute.

The exhibition is of particular interest to candidates who intend to apply for any of the full-time courses being offered next scholastic year.

A wide variety of design projects are being exhibited until Sunday.

It is good opportunity for the general public to see the high standards achieved in the various disciplines within the art and design institute at Targa Gap, in Mosta, the minister said.
