McDonald's restaurants in Malta yesterday joined more than 30,000 McDonald's restaurants in 121 countries in Children's Day events to raise funds for children in the community.
Fundraising activities around the world varied by country, market and restaurant. In Malta McDonald's are contributing Lm1 to the Eden Foundation from every extra value meal sold.
Globally, World Children's Day was supported by top celebrities, such as Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias and Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys.
Malta's effort was supported by a number of local personalities, including Ira Losco, Mary Spiteri, Freddie Portelli, Winter Moods, Scream Daisy, Corkscrew and members of the Birkirkara and Valletta football clubs.
