Mdina Glass LRC six-miler next month

For the 12th consecutive year, the Ladies' Running Club is organising its annual road race which is scheduled for Friday, September 13 at 6 p.m.

Once again, Mdina Glass are the main sponsor of this event. Other support is coming from San Michel, Gatorade, Country Style and Sedqa among others. Since its inauguration this road race has always increased in popularity and nowadays many consider it as the second largest athletic event only to the Malta Marathon.

The event consists of the six-mile race, and a three-kilometre fun-run, both of which start and finish in front of Mdina Glass factory, Ta' Qali, at 6 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. respectively.

Throughout the route, which is the same as in previous years, water will be provided and energy drinks will be distributed at the finishing line. Marshals will be posted along the course, which will also be marked.

Medals and Mdina Glass gifts will be presented to all finishers of the six mile race, while medals will be awarded to the finishers of the fun run.

Prizes, specially made by Mdina Glass, will be awarded to the first three males and first three females, as well as other awards in the various age categories.

Applications for both the race and Fun Run may be obtained from the Ladies' Running Club, The Albatross, Triq il-Mithna, Lija or from Wally Galea's Souvenir Shop, South Street, Valletta.

Closing date for application is September 9. Registration for the fun run may be made before 5 p.m. on the day of the race.
