Malta Enterprise last year attracted 15 foreign owned industrial projects to Malta. They will involve a total investment of Lm19.3 million over three years and employ 825 people, Investments Minister Austin Gatt told Evarist Bartolo (MLP) in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday.

He said eight of the projects were already on stream.

Since January Malta Enterprise approved a further nine foreign industrial projects which would involve a total investment of Lm6.7 million and employ 214. One has already started operating.

Three of the projects approved last year were in the pharmaceuticals sector, two each in software and metal works and one each in automotive, aviation, chemicals, electronics, marine, printing, services and R&D activities.

Of this year's projects, two were in electronics and one each in R&D, metal, plastics, services, furniture, software and marine activities.
