The fourth edition of the popular Medieval Mdina Festival will be held this weekend.

The festival will bring the silent city to life with a number of re-enactments, pageantry and floral displays.

There will also be a medieval street market, jousting, a display of birds of prey, as well as medieval games.

Entrance fees for all museums and attractions in Mdina will be reduced.

The festival, presented by Mdina Council, was launched this morning by Home Affairs and Local Councils Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici and Tourism and Culture Minister Mario de Marco.

Activities on both days open at 10 a.m. and continue into the evening.

Gregorian Chants

As part of Medieval Mdina the Cathedral Museum is making available an original Gregorian Chant book from its unique collection. The Cappella Gregoriana Jubilate Deo, directed by renowned Maltese conductor Christopher Muscat, will perform live from the centuries-old manuscript. The concert will  will take place on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. at the Palazzo de Piro Cultural Centre in Mdina.
