After more than three weeks out of the public eye, US first lady Melania Trump was seen at an event for Gold Star families at the White House on Monday, several major news outlets reported.

Melania was seen walking in with US President Donald Trump in video taken by guests and posted to social media websites.

Trump reportedly joked about speculation about her whereabouts during his remarks.

Melania Trump underwent a surgical procedure week in May to treat a benign kidney condition at Walter Reed medical center in Maryland.
