Melita Ltd employees have raised funds to help cover the cost of a mobile X-ray machine which Nature Trust Malta will use during the rehabilitation of rescued turtles.

The money was raised on the initiative of Eleanor Sacco, a senior HR executive at Melita and an active member of Nature Trust.

“The mobile X-ray machine will be extremely useful in our rehabilitation of rescued turtles. It will allow us to make sure that turtles which come into our care have not swallowed fishhooks, plastic items, or other harmful objects,” Vince Attard, president of Nature Trust Malta, said.

“Nature Trust depends on the support of its members and the broader community to continue its work and on very effective initiatives such as this which at the same time bring together work colleagues.”

Jacqueline Abela, head of human resources at Melita Ltd, commented: “While Melita, particularly through the Melita Foundation, is very active in directly supporting numerous social, educational and cultural initiatives, we are always more than happy to help employees who may wish to support particular good causes. Eleanor’s commitment to Nature Trust is exemplary and it was great to see so many colleagues from across the business come together to support her.”
