Nature Trust's Marine Rescue Team and Mellieha local council will clean up Mellieha Bay on Saturday.

The event will focus on the right hand side (known as the Tunny Net) near the old knights' battery. The event will include both an underwater and a shore clean up.

Nature Trust will also set up an educational stand about the Marine Rescue Team.

The team is made up of a core team of 10 volunteers, who are on a 24-hour on-call service, and auxiliary team members. The team includes divers, biologists and veterinarians. The team acts on an average of three dolphin stranding reports per year, as well as numerous turtle stranding reports.
