The Malta Tourism Authority is once again offering a training session relating to the eco-certification scheme, aimed at assisting hotels reduce their impact on the environment by better resource management, including that of energy and water.

The scheme was first launched in October, 2002 and the Green Commission, a board set up to overview it, accepted 12 hotels to form part of it. The hotels will receive an award later this month.

The MTA will be conducting a training session for accommodation establishments which wish to join the eco-certification scheme next October. The training session is a compulsory step for those who want to join.

Applications for accommodation establishments are open until June 13. More information may be obtained from the MTA's Product Planning and Development by contacting Nicholas Crockford on tel. 2291 5805 or via e-mail: eco-certification@maltatourismauthority.com
