The Malta Environment and Planning Authority determined 782 applications in August, and received 550 new applications, resulting in a net pending caseload of 2,871 at the end of the month.

A total of 94 stop and enforcement notices were issued, 23 in the north of Malta, 24 in the south, 31 in the central area and 16 in Gozo.

Forty-one enforcement cases were sanctioned through a MEPA permit, and 19 illegal structures were removed by their owners. MEPA carried out five direct action operations to remove five illegal structures.
