Last month, 568 applications were determined by The Malta Environment and Planning Authority.
The authority received 814 fresh applications in October, pushing the pending caseload at the end of the month up to 3,524 applications.
Mepa processed 88 notifications of development that did not require a formal application and issued 119 stop and enforcement notices, 78 in Malta and 41 in Gozo.
The authority closed 34 enforcement cases, 33 in Malta and one in Gozo. Out of these, 25 were sanctioned. The other nine cases were resolved when owners decided to remove the illegal development following enforcement action.
The complaints office received 30 cases that were resolved without the need of an enforcement notice because the owners complied with instructions by Mepa enforcement officers.
