E-mails sent by Malta Environment and Planning Authority employees were recently checked by the authority's IT section following a report by an anonymous person who said that certain people were sending e-mails which offended public morals, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Joe Mizzi, he said that it had resulted that there were people who had sent material which could be considered offensive. These people were warned according to the authority's disciplinary code.

This, the minister said, could not be considered as tapping.
