An application form for a special licence for the hunting of turtle dove and quail this spring is being issued by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.
The authority said all prospective applicants who are in possession of a valid hunting licence for 2010 may apply for this licence.
Applicants in possession of a valid hunting licence up to April 7will be receiving the application form together with an explanatory letter and additional information by regular post within the next days.
Those who want to apply for the licence but do not receive this form, or, those who renew or obtain a valid hunting licence for 2010 after April 7 may collect the same information from any MaltaPost branch as from April 12.
Interested applicants are requested to fill in the form and submit it at the nearest MaltaPost branch between April 12 and 15 by noon.
The application has to be filled-in and signed by the applicant. An identity card has to be presented.
SELECTION PROCESS
2,500 special licences shall be awarded. Should the number of valid applications received exceed this amount, there will be a computerised random selection process.
The selected applicants will receive a letter indicating the price of the special licence (25 Euros) and from where it can be collected, prior to the open season.
