Met office issues gale warning
Strong west-northwest wind expected to become very strong
The Met Office on Thursday issued a gale warning, forecasting very strong northwesterly winds in the afternoon.
The orange warning was issued at around noon and will remain valid till 9pm.
On Wednesday, it warned of strong winds for the coming few days and that December was slightly warmer than normal and rainfall was below average.
It said that the coming days are expected to be characterised by strong northwesterly winds, which may at times reach gale force, particularly over the weekend.

The temperature is set to reach 14°C, dropping to 10°C at night.
