Shirley Vella of Mgarr has won a trip to the Hogwarts Castle Adventure in England after participating in a lottery tied to the Harry Potter film at the Empire Cinemas.
The long-awaited film version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer`s Stone hit the cinema screens with a bang last November. J.K. Rowling`s books about the boy wizard have undoubtedly captured the sprinkle of magic in the hearts of kids and adults alike.
Coca-Cola representatives General Soft Drinks Co Ltd, Empire Cinemas in Bugibba and KRS Film Distributors Ltd launched a promotional campaign to mark the event. Coca Cola, sole worldwide promotional partner for the Harry Potter film, continued its mission of developing programmes to motivate young people to achieve. Why Harry Potter? The wizard has done magic not only in inspiring a passion for reading, but also in transmitting positive messages of self-discovery, friendship and the magic of shared experiences in its readers.
These are the messages that Coca Cola worldwide wants to celebrate. So, Coca Cola wanted to go beyond promotion of the film, using this opportunity to celebrate reading.
The promotion was distinctive because of the focus on the families and the value of reading. Every group of school children who enjoyed the screening of Harry Potter at the Empire Cinemas between November 16 and 30 was offered a very exclusive price together with various different packages.
Coca-Cola also donated 10c per child to the schools visiting the cinema to watch Harry Potter during these two weeks. These were Margaret Martimer Junior, Theresa Nuzzo Marsa, Chiswick House School and St Sebastian Primary.
