Malta International Airport has donated Lm1,000 to the Malta Consulate of the Czech Republic as a donation towards the restoration of cultural institutions in the country, which were damaged in the floods which hit the republic last August.
A concert in aid of this project will be held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard tomorrow at 7.30 p.m.
The concert is being held under the patronage of President Guido de Marco.
Soprano Eva Depoltova and pianist Sarka Knezetova from the National Theatre in Prague, together with Maltese trio Solaris and soprano Marita Bezzina will perform during the concert, which is under the artistic direction of Mro Charles Camilleri.
Peter Bolech, chief executive officer of the Malta International Airport, who passed on the donation on behalf of the board of directors to Tonio Casapinta, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Malta, expressed sympathy for this tragedy, which had also hit historical sites in Austria.
