Following the strong results published last week by the board of directors of Malta International Airport p.l.c, Malta International Airport's shares witnessed an increased of 5.469 per cent during the week after opening at Lm1.28 on Monday and closing the week's trading at Lm1.35. Total turnover amounted to 51,406 shares changing hands over 42 deals. At the end of yesterday's session, bids for 3,880 shares at Lm1.32 and offers of 1,746 shares at Lm1.354 made up the best unsatisfied closing positions.
Bank of Valletta shares opened the week at Lm4.896 on Tuesday and closed the week's trading at Lm4.86 yesterday. A total of 5,988 shares changed hands over the week, spread over 16 deals. During the week, the price ranged between Lm4.897 and Lm4.86. As yesterday's session drew to a close, 300 shares at Lm4.84 and 1,415 shares at Lm4.86 were the best unsatisfied bids and offers respectively.
The price of HSBC shares lost 6c5 during the week to end yesterday's session at Lm4.85 after opening at Lm4.915 on Monday. Total turnover amounted to 14,579 shares changing hands over eighteen deals. In a company announcement issued on Monday, Simonds Farsons Cisk p.l.c. stated that the 58th annual general meeting is to be held on June 30 to read and approve the minutes of the 57th annual general meeting held on June 28, 2004; to receive and consider the accounts for the year ended January 31, 2005 and the reports of the directors and auditors thereon; to approve the dividends as recommended by the directors; to appoint auditors and to elect directors.
