The Labour Party on Monday announced the death of Michael Tanti, father of Michelle Muscat, wife of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. 

Tanti, 75, was a teacher of the English language and was heavily involved in the fisheries sector. 

The party paid tribute to Tanti and expressed its condolences with the Muscat and Tanti families.
