Former Malta striker Adrian Mifsud will have a chance to play more regularly in the Premier League this season after accepting a one-year long loan deal with Floriana yesterday.

Mifsud, 30, joined Sliema Wanderers last summer but failed to find a regular place in the side after moving from Hibernians.

Floriana will be his fifth club in Malta after starting his career with Sta Venera before a move to Rabat Ajax.

Officials from both clubs yesterday confirmed with The Times that agreement has been reached. Mifsud is looking forward to his new challenge.

"This was a crucial move for me," Mifsud said.

"I had to change clubs this year because I want more first-team football. With Sliema I found it harder than I had expected to establish myself. I've always given my 100 per cent and with Floriana it will be the same."

Another player who will leave the Wanderers on a similar loan deal is wing-back Miguel Mifsud.

He will join Msida and could be in Todor Raykov's squad for Sunday's league match against Valletta.

Meanwhile, Hamrun Spartans are likely to have Maltese-Australian midfielder Adam Mansueto in their squad for Saturday's match against Pietà.

Mansueto agreed terms with the Spartans but is still waiting for his documents to be issued by the authorities.
