Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza has signed a five-year contract with Birkirkara after the latter reached agreement with Floriana over his transfer fee.
Yesterday evening, the Stripes were engaged in a battle against time to conclude Mifsud Triganza's registration as Floriana required a statement from Zurrieq. The Division Two club were still owed money by the Greens for Steve Wellman's transfer a few years ago. The outstanding payments were settled yesterday.
Confirming the signing of the 22-year-old, Birkirkara official John Borg said the transfer was finalised just before the MFA deadline.
Mifsud Triganza's move paved the way for another last-minute switch.
Alan Tabone, the Birkirkara forward, joined Msida St Joseph on loan till the end of the season.
