Milan have signed Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira from Spanish side Real Betis, the Serie A club announced yesterday.
Oliveira signed a five-year contract with the six-times European champions, who said Swiss midfielder Johann Vogel had joined Betis as part of the deal.
Confirming the move, Betis president Pepe Leon told the Europa Press news agency: "The sale of Oliveira will earn Betis 17.5 million euros, Vogel, and a friendly against Milan which we hope we will be able to celebrate as our centenary match."
Oliveira, who was one of the Primera Liga's top scorers in 2005 with 22 goals, had previously played for Valencia, with whom he won the Spanish title and the UEFA Cup in 2004.
His arrival at Milan will help fill the gap left by Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko, who joined Premier League champions Chelsea in May.
