The L-Istrina marathon in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund was held yesterday at the Cottonera Sports Complex and by 8pm had already raised €2 million as co-presenter Peppi Azzopardi urged donors to post the message ‘I called’ on Facebook. Themed ‘Faith, Hope and Charity’ the event, hosted by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca (below with her husband Edgar Preca and Archbishop Charles Scicluna) was aired live on local TV channels. Last year a record €3.65 million was raised.
