I would like to propose a mini referendum regarding the old opera house site in Valletta. We should consider a voting booth where people who enter Valletta could use their identity card to vote electronically on whether they want the old theatre or a choice from several projects that independent architects could propose.

As for Richard England, haven't we seen enough controversial ideas that he has proposed and also given the go ahead to? I respect Prof. England as an architect but we need new ideas. Anybody could notice a Richard England project from anybody else's. I just cannot imagine him designing the new Parliament.

Please, Dr Gonzi, please, get a feeling of what the population wants rather than what your team wants.
