A contractor was yesterday charged with misappropriating Lm7,866 from a client.

Lawrence Cilia, 55, of Ghaxaq, pleaded not guilty to misappropriating the money when he failed to finish the work he had been contracted to carry out at Michael McNamara's apartment at Busietta Gardens in 1999 and the following months.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Cilia.
