The John West Foods mixed doubles tournament at VLTC came to a close recently.

Mixed doubles tournaments are always popular in clubs where social tennis is practised. So, it was no surprise that this particular event was received so enthusiastically by members, the VLTC said.

Couples were grouped in six divisions and played against each other on best-of-three tie-break set format.

Matthew Borg and Erika Azzopardi emerged winners in Division One with Richard Magri and Lucienne Magri the runners-up.

The other winners were: Ben Lufi/Mary Chenery, Division 2; Paul Fenech/Moira Fenech, Division 3; Antoine Muscat/Angela Delia, Division 4; Stephen Belli/Olivia Belli, Division 5; Anton Farrugia Sacco/Maria Giorgia Farrugia Sacco, Division 6.
