In his article "More wanton destruction of our archaeological heritage" (The Sunday Times, June 19), Fr Eugene Paul Theuma, OFM Conv. claims that the person or persons who committed the vandalism on Mnajdra temples are known, however these are still free because of a 'technical hitch'. The police would like to point out that from investigations carried up to now, it feels that it does not have enough evidence to arraign any person or persons in court accused with committing the offences in relation to such breach of the law.
