The winner of the next word game series starting today will be heading off on a tour of the historic Turkish city of Antalya and the Turquoise Riviera with Mondial in September.
The five-day tour, between September 7-11, will be complemented with a Lm50 shopping voucher from Malta International Airport's tax free shops and a year's membership of the Scrabble Club.
On the first day of the tour, the winner will have the opportunity to take an optional city tour of Antalya, which is not only famous for its fantastic beaches but also for its historic and artistic heritage, and civilisation.
The city's outstanding monument is Hadrian's Gate, but there is also the broken minaret of Kesik Minare Cami and the fluted minaret, which is the city's most characteristic monument.
On day two, the tour departs on a full day optional excursion to Demre, Myra and Kekova.
Known for its spectacular tombs hewn out of rock, there is also a Roman theatre in Myra. In Demre, the tour will visit St Nicholas Church with its beautiful marble and mosaic floor and after lunch head for the island of Kekova, visiting the ancient partially submerged towns of Sperloi, Simena and Teimiussa.
The winner will also be able to admire the waves brushing against remains of walls or a Lycian sarcophagus which seems to emerge from the water as if by magic.
While the third day will be left free for shopping, on day four the tour will go on an optional excursion to Manavgat and Aspendos. The first stop will be the spectacular Manavgat waterfalls.
From then it will continue to Aspendos, which has the best preserved Roman theatre anywhere in Turkey. The theatre, which is still being used for plays and concerts due to its fantastic acoustics, can hold up to 20,000 people.
In the evening, the winner will have the opportunity to watch the international match between Malta and Israel at the Antalya football stadium.
On the last day, the winner will be able to enjoy an optional excursion to the coastal town of Perge, where St Paul delivered his first sermon. There are also ancient well-preserved Roman remains, which experts consider to be one of the largest and most spectacular remains of the classic antiquities.
Side, a lively town on the southern coast will then be visited, for last minute shopping opportunities.
The winner of the last series, who will be joining Albertours, on its tour to Germany and the Netherlands in July, will be drawn by lots at the Public Lotto Department next week and will be announced next Saturday. The correct nine-letter words of the series were frostless, severally, greengage, annulment, sharpener and excepting or expecting.
