The Monin Cup 2026 Malta Edition was held on May 27 at AX ODYCY. Highlighting the skill, creativity and innovation emerging from Malta’s new generation of bartenders, the event was hosted by Farsons Beverage Imports Company Ltd in collaboration with Monin.
Fourteen participants competed in this year’s edition, highlighting the increasing level of expertise and sophistication within Malta’s bartending scene. Cocktails were judged by an expert panel of industry professionals, including Claudio Lopez, Monin Beverage Expert for Southern Europe.
Following a highly competitive final, Juan Martinez, assistant bar manager at Grand Hotel Excelsior, secured first place with an impressive display of creativity and technical precision. His victory earned him the opportunity to represent Malta at the Monin Cup Semi-Finals in London in November.
The event brought together hospitality professionals, cocktail enthusiasts and industry leaders for a day dedicated to craftsmanship, passion and the continued evolution of Malta’s cocktail culture. The Monin Cup remains an influential international platform that promotes innovation and excellence across the hospitality sector.
