Last week I had the unfortunate experience of attending two funerals on two consecutive days from Boffa Hospital. On the second day I went into the morgue to pay my final respects to the deceased. Before entering I was 'warned' that there was another corpse lying there.
Now the room is very small and the necessary fittings for a simple curtain were there, including the hooks on the rail. The only thing missing was a couple of metres of any material to give the deceased privacy, and not left there on show.
I remember some time ago there was a whole controversy about the St Luke's Hospital morgue, with the responsible person defending the case. What the persons concerned need to do is to listen to the bereaved persons and not dismiss them to defend their position. Acting on what needs to be done shows more responsibility
In this case the lack of a simple curtain showed great lack of respect to the deceased and the bereaved. I refuse to hear any explanations. What I expect is nothing less than the curtain to be put up immediately.
