Iron works on the original design of architect Giorgio Grognet de Vasse are being undertaken as part of embellishment works on the Mosta parvis.

Giorgio Grognet de Vasse was the architect who completed this church in 1860.

Resources Minister George Pullicino visited the works this morning.

The work, he said, required skill since the design was round and each piece had a different curve.

The project will also include the installation of two Sicilian fountains.

These would be placed at the spot where Giorgio Grognet had placed them in the original plans.

€200,000 are being invested in the project and the Church is meeting some of the costs.

The works will be concluded by the end of July.
