A joint initiative by the Mosta Primary School and Mosta FC Youth Nursery recently resulted in a day of football fun for over 250 boys and girls.

As from this season, youth nurseries must possess a Malta FA licence to operate. Licences are awarded to nurseries that meet the stipulated requirements, among which is the need to establish links with schools in the locality.

The tournament, which coincided with the Easter holidays, was played at the Mosta ground. In all, 31 teams took part and matches were played on five pitches.

The winners were: Boys' Year 4 - Olympic Gunners; Boys' Year 5 - Rome; Boys' Year 6 - All Stars; Girls - Water Colours.

School headmaster Alex Attard, and staff members Jeffrey Muscat and Joe Vella, along with nursery officials, helped in the smooth running of the event.

At the end of a hectic day, Mr Attard presented the winning teams with trophies and commemorative mementos. Sponsors on the day were Nectar Ltd, Attard Bros. Co. Ltd, Mosta Auto Dealer and the Mosta Ground Bar.
