The Mosta FC U-14 team recently returned from Holland after playing in the Regio Haarlem Cup Youth International Tournament. This tournament, the 17th edition, is regarded as one of Europe's top football events.

Matches were played over a five-day period on various turf pitches in three different locations, just outside Amsterdam.

The young Mosta team, led by coach Joe Deguara, played seven matches, winning three of them. They were eliminated in the semi-final by Westlandia FC - the eventual winners of the group.

Meanwhile, a strong contingent of 27 players from the same nursery travelled to Tunisia to take part in an U-10 tournament.

The group was accompanied by several parents and led by coaches Paul Zammit and Pio Sciriha.

The Mosta nursery fielded three teams - Santa Maria, Blues and Mosta. Santa Maria finished ninth, Blues seventh and Mosta second, going down narrowly in the decisive match.

A number of Zammit's boys caught the eye in Tunis and one of them, Tomislav Hegedus, was named best goalkeeper of the tournament.
