Mostly Harmless returns with black comedy Dead and Breakfast
James Calvert's new play starts November 7
Mostly Harmless – the team behind some of Malta’s most-loved theatrical comedies – is back with a brand new production that promises to be their most unusual yet.
Dead and Breakfast is a laugh-out-loud dark comedy from the same minds that brought local audiences God’s Official, The Trophy Room, Yes, Prime Minister and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).
The play drops four wildly different characters into one impossible situation: a retired footballer, a self-made millionaire, a Maltese line cook and a self-absorbed social media influencer find themselves trapped together in a hotel storeroom as the world outside descends into chaos.
With the door barricaded and horror unfolding beyond their four walls, this unlikely foursome are going to have to survive the apocalypse armed only with bleach, beer and buckets.
Blending outright comedy with social satire, Dead and Breakfast takes aim at influencer culture, survival instincts and what really happens when polite society falls apart.
The production stars four of Malta’s finest comic actors: John Montanaro, Andrea Pace, Jes Camilleri and Naomi Said. The play is written and directed by James Calvert.
Performances run for three weekends from November 7 to November 23 at Theatre Next Door, Naxxar. Tickets start from €15 and are available online at www.tnd.com.mt.
Due to adult language and content, this production is not recommended for audiences under 18.
Get ready for Malta’s funniest end of the world… you’ll laugh, you’ll cringe and you’ll never look at breakfast the same way again.
