A 19-year-old youth has been cleared of stealing Lm5,780 from his mother after a magistrate heard the mother declare she forgave her son.

Andrè Falzon, of St Paul's Bay, was cleared of stealing the cash from his mother Helen Lorna on November 28.

Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.

Lawyer Franco Debono appeared for Mr Falzon.
